No, they make a song and dance when we bring the likes of Zaza and Calleri in and then go quiet when they don't muster up a single goal between them.

Re: Zaza gone
Well didn't say he wanted to prove himself in the Premiership and that he wanted score a lot of goals in the new stadium. If he now said that he never wanted to come to West Ham, he would only say that because it didn't work out well for him.....

Proves that this is a very very difficult business to be in with sharks swimming and circling constantly.
We could have made much worse decisions.

Zaza's comment tells me he's a much better man than Payet.

Re: Zaza gone
fuck me 4.3m loan fee, what a bad decision that was

still swings and round abouts

Lanzini already worth double what we paid and we'll get double profit at least on payet

Went on about Zaza for about two years. Hasn't said a dicky since he arrived.

Re: Zaza gone
Will go down in my book as disappointing rather than awful. I thought he looked like a decent player who was just out of nick.

We would have been better off holding on Zarate then having that waste of space ( and money).

Re: Zaza gone
He was only on loan and it was probably more Juventus trying to get him out rather than a burning desire to play for us.
Sounds like he was bumped into it a bit and his heart was never in it.
That's why I am always wary of these players like Bacca etc where we have to convince them that joining us is a good idea.
I like to hear players who are excited about joining.

Just tell him to refund my season ticket and we will call it quits.

You make a good point, we dont seem to have a type we want, even in this window we have reportedly gone for Dembele, Defoe and Hogan all different styles of player.

Re: Zaza gone
Zaza says he is to blame for failed loan spell

Zaza said, (via the London Evening Standard): “It was a very difficult time for me. When I joined from Juventus I was very optimistic, I wanted to experience playing in England because I thought it was the football that I liked and where I could use my qualities.
“Everything started badly from the outset, I think the main blame lies with me because I was not right mentally, I was very negative and in all the things that happened I never saw the positive side.
“There was an atmosphere, a culture very different to mine. That was a problem. Now I’m here I feel bad not to have shown in England what I’m capable of.”

Re: Zaza gone
Anyone know if him going to Valencia saves us any money?

Are they taking over his wages or are we still subsidising them?

And I presume we don't get any of the loan fee back?! (although this would mean Juve get two loan fees)

Re: Zaza gone
On the face of it you would think an Italian international from serie a would be a great signing. But who was the last successful striker signing a premier league team made from serie a? Crespo? Schevchenko? Even the really big names have struggled (ok schevchenko was an absurd Chelsea signing two years past his best)

Maybe it's time we actually developed a scouting network that looks for the type of players we need? Even our 'lets sign a big name striker' search in the summer reeked of amateur hour as baaca, lacazette and batshit are all totally different players
